Nobody remembers the first rehearsal.

But everyone remembers the chaos. The same song playing again. Again. And again. Someone forgetting the dance steps. Someone moving too early in the formation. A teacher shouting from the side of the ground. Half the class pretending they knew what they were doing. You’d been practising for weeks. You didn’t know exactly what you were preparing for. You just knew that on 15 August, everyone would be watching. And somehow, when the music started, everyone got it right. Or at least close enough.
